I had Announcements 6 & 7, however, they are no longer compatible with the new Windows. It is a very easy to use program. Would like to see a new version for Windows 10!
I purchased Announcements 7 just before the company who partnered with Parsons Technology split and took their announcement software.
Announcements 7 has both 15-bit files on it and 32-bit files. It was written to work in Windows 95. It worked with later operating systems when using compatibility option in properties. I found that it worked well with Windows 7.
Would receive messages in operating system 8 - 32-bit, that ann. had stopped working. I would turn it off and re-start the program and continued with my projects.
Because this was annoying I decided that I would try to delete the 16-bit files from the program disk. Continued to have the problem. I did a search in Windows Explorer for 16-bit files and found two more, deleted these.
It is working well at this time.
I set Microsoft op system 8, 32-bit (which I understand they have abandoned) to not allow updates and also to airplane mode. I added a printer that allowed me to use a cable and not Wi-Fi. I did a custom mode install and did not load any programs that needed wireless to run and update programs. This is on a laptop which I only use for my creative work.
Announcements is a great program for all my creative needs.
